Crazy Horse Memorial
Held annually, there are two dates for the blasts. The first blast is on June 26th which celebrates the birthday of Mrs. Korczak (Ruth) Ziolkowski whom was the wife of the late Crazy Horse Memorial sculptor. The first blast also commemorates the anniversary of the Battle of the Little Big Horn in 1876. The second blast is on September 6th which commemorates the anniversaries of the death of Crazy Horse in 1877 and the birth of sculptor Korczak Ziolkowski in 1908. After 6pm during the nights of the blasts, canned goods will be taken as donations for KOTA care and Share Food Drive. Honoring the Native American heritage the laser show is presented at night during the Memorial Day weekend through Native American Day in October every year. The light show turns the mountain into a 500 foot "screen" as the lights hit the mountain. Come watch this unique method of story telling with the whole family! more

Held annually, the Native Americans Day celebration at Crazy Horse Memorial will have an educational program for everyone to enjoy, Native American singers, dancers, artists and storytellers. Children will get to participate in hands-on activities and everyone will get to witness a blast on the mountain carving. Everyone will also get to enjoy a free buffalo stew lunch! more

Held annually during the first weekend in June, this hike is a 10k or 6.2 mile woodlands hike to the largest mountain carving in the world (Still in progress). With over 15,000 hikers a year this hike is the most popular in the US. This is the only time visitors are allowed to hike to the top of the carving.
